This privacy policy explains how Runway ("the app", "we", "us") handles your data. Runway is developed and maintained by Andy Munyimi.

What data we collect

Runway stores the following data locally on your device:

Video ideas including titles, notes, series names, and inspiration links.
Requirement tags and idea status.
Streak count, freeze count, and publish history.
App preferences including dark mode setting and notification preferences.
Trial start date and subscription status.

If you sign in with Apple, we store your Apple user identifier and display name locally on your device. We do not store this on any server.

Third party services

Runway uses the following third party services:

Anthropic PBC: When you use an AI feature, the note text or screenshot you choose is sent through Runway's server, hosted by Vercel, to Anthropic PBC, which processes it using its Claude AI model and returns the result. Anthropic's commercial terms and privacy policy apply to this data. Runway does not store this content on its server. Visit anthropic.com/privacy for details.
Vercel: Runway's server is hosted by Vercel to securely route optional AI feature requests to Anthropic PBC. Visit vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy for details.
Apple Sign In: If you choose to sign in with Apple, Apple's privacy policy applies. Visit apple.com/legal/privacy for details.
Expo: Runway uses Expo's push notification service to send daily reminders. No personal data is shared with Expo beyond a device push token. Visit expo.dev/privacy for details.

AI Features

Runway offers optional AI features (Format with AI and Analyse Screenshot). These only run after you give permission in the app. When you use them, the note text or screenshot you choose is sent through Runway's server, hosted by Vercel, to Anthropic PBC, which processes it using its Claude AI model and returns the result. Runway does not store this content on its server. Anthropic processes the content under its own commercial terms and privacy policy. You can withdraw permission at any time in the app under Settings, Allow AI processing.

Where your data is stored

All idea data, streak data, and preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. Runway does not operate any databases. Runway uses a small server, hosted by Vercel, only to pass AI requests to Anthropic. This server does not store your content. Your data does not leave your device except when you choose to use the AI features (Format with AI or Analyse Screenshot), as described in the AI Features section.

Your rights under GDPR

As a UK and EU user you have the right to access your data, correct your data, and delete your data. Since all data is stored locally on your device you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app. For any questions contact us at the email above.

Data retention

Your data is stored on your device until you delete the app. We do not retain any data on external servers.

Children

Runway is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will update the date at the top of this page when changes are made.
